What the hell is a "sub-akute Thyreoiditis de Quervain"?

Morgen gehts in die Berge, woohoo!
Today morning I went to the doctor again since I couldn't sleep last night due to really bad pain of my thyroid gland. After a blood test, an ultra sound, some talking and heaps of waiting I got the result:
a quite rare form of thyroid infection called "sub-akute Thyreoiditis de Quervain". I always knew I was something special :-)
